# Migrate from Anthropic

> Change the base URL, the key, and the model.

You change the base URL, the API key, and the model. The messages you already send stay, including `max_tokens` and the top-level `system` field.

The SDK adds `/v1/messages` to that base URL, and it sends `anthropic-version: 2023-06-01`. When the first block is text, the reply is still `content[0].text`. The key needs the scope `messages:create`. You create it in the [API dashboard](https://app.overcontrolgroup.com/dashboard).

Keep `max_tokens` within the model's ceiling. On `lume-3.5` that ceiling is 16,384. A `thinking` block can stay, and the reply that comes back is the text.
